"Layered Electric Retinal Signals emerges from my ongoing study of the Phosphene series. Experiencing phosphene vision, seeing light generated within the eye itself, became my introduction to a form of interior abstraction: the act of seeing from within. These fleeting bursts of retinal light revealed an internal universe where perception, matter, and energy converge. In this work, the body becomes a site of cosmic inquiry, where the same forces that shape subatomic particles and distant galaxies echo through the electrical signals of vision, connecting the interior of the human body to the vast architecture of space and time." - José Parlá
