In San Francesco di Paola Napoli I 2009, Candida Höfer immerses us in the grandeur of Naples' most iconic church, located in the heart of the city's main square. Completed between 1816 and 1846, the church evokes the classical reverence of Rome’s Pantheon, yet it is uniquely Neapolitan in its scale and presence. Höfer’s gaze draws us upwards, to the astonishing dome, fifty-three metres in height, where light and shadow dance across its vast surface.
