Untitled, from Nabil Nahas’s Fractal series (2021–2022), is an example of the artist’s deep investigation into organic complexity, material accumulation, and nature’s generative patterns. Though intimate in scale, the work erupts with vibrant, coral-like formations in saturated reds, electric blues, ochres, and violets, each form edged with contrasting hues that ripple outward like geological blooms or bioluminescent reef clusters. Constructed in acrylic on canvas, the heavily textured surface bristles from the wall with sculptural presence, dissolving the line between painting and relief.

Nahas channels the principles of fractal geometry by using repetitive structures that suggest limitless growth. Up close, the composition reveals a network of rugged textures and multicoloured strata that seem to pulse with internal energy, invoking both the accumulation of mineral deposits and the delicacy of marine ecosystems. The tension between vibrancy and volatility lies at the core of the piece, a dynamic interplay of growth and dissolution, precision and organic sprawl.

In this work, surface becomes a contemplative terrain that invites viewers to reflect on the interconnectedness of natural systems and the fragility of their balance. It is an artifact of time, energy, and colour in continual evolution.
