Qi Lei (born in Suixi, Anhui in 1986) currently lives and works in Shanghai. He graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 2014 and is currently represented by Matthew Liu Fine Arts. His solo exhibitions include Tristes Tropiques, Soul Art Center, Beijing (2025); The Trembling of a Leaf, Matthew Liu Fine Arts, Shanghai (2023); Stalker, Matthew Liu Fine Arts, Shanghai (2019); The River Flows Through the City, Matthew Liu Fine Arts, Shanghai (2017); Gap Of Image, ARTMIA Foundation, Beijing (2015); and Day For Night, GOME Art Foundation, Hong Kong (2014). His works have been exhibited at the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art, Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum, Beijing Zhengguan Art Museum, and Tang Contemporary Art Bangkok. His paintings are collected by the Hong Kong Simian Foundation, Shanghai ASE Foundation, Nanjing Deji Art Museum, Beijing ARTMIA Foundation, Gome Art Foundation, and Yungang Grottoes Institute.
