Artist Awol Erizku talks about how his art practice is shaped by the idea of diaspora.
Ben Brown Fine Arts is delighted to share Home Away From Home, José Parlá’s solo exhibition now on view in Tokyo, presented across two venues: the POLA Museum Annex in Ginza and KOTARO NUKAGA in Roppongi.
At the POLA Museum Annex, Home Away From Home traces the breadth of Parlá’s practice, reflecting on a concept of “home” shaped by memory, movement, and human connection. A frequent visitor to Japan since 1999, Parlá draws deeply from its climate, aesthetics, and cultural traditions — influences that resonate throughout this rich and multifaceted presentation. A complementary selection of new paintings is on view at KOTARO NUKAGA, further expanding on the artist’s enduring connection with Japan.
